Unlocking Potential, Building Foundations: Personalized ABA Therapy in Albany, Oregon

Getting Started is Easy

Consultation: When you get in contact with our company, we will request some information regarding the client to determine if our services are a good fit. Once that is determined, we will send you the required paperwork to fill out. Then your assigned BCBA will contact you to schedule the initial interview and observation.

** Please note that we do not provide autism diagnoses at Burton Behavioral Interventions Corp.

Personalized Plan: During the initial interview, the BCBA will collect necessary information to gain a deeper understanding of the client's and family's needs and goals. By doing this, we will create a tailored program that lays the foundation for growth and unleashes potential.

What is ABA Therapy?

ABA therapy, or Applied Behavior Analysis, is a therapeutic approach that applies techniques based on the principles of learning to bring about behavior change with social significance. The primary objective of ABA therapy is to enhance a child's skills for independent living while reducing challenging behaviors. At Burton Behavioral Interventions Corp, we use ABA therapy to help your child develop long-term information processing abilities and enhance sensory, motor, cognitive, and social-emotional functions.

Direct ABA Therapy

Our one-on-one therapy services combine Natural Environment Training (NET) and Discrete Trial Training (DTT) in the setting of your choice – whether it's in the comfort of your home, at school, or within the community. Opting for therapy in a home environment allows the client to develop self-help and adaptive skills within real-life situations, benefiting from the familiarity and frequent family guidance. Throughout these sessions, our highly qualified Board-Certified Behavior Analyst ensures the client's success in the program by providing supervision.

In addition, if your child requires extra support in the school setting, we offer one-on-one services to assist students in their educational environment. Our dedicated team of Board-Certified Behavior Analysts provides consultation and training to school staff, ensuring that progress extends beyond the home. These focused sessions offer additional support tailored to the client's specific needs.

Therapy Roadmap

Guiding Your Journey to Success

Diagnosis

At Burton Behavioral Interventions Corp, we do not offer autism diagnosis services. Please consult your pediatrician and check with your insurance provider before scheduling assessments or appointments with our team. Our focus is on providing therapy and support following a formal diagnosis and appropriate referrals.

Initial Consultation with BBIC

The next step is to contact BBIC to initiate the process of determining if our services are the right fit for you and your needs.

Authorization/Pre-Authorization

We initiate the process of obtaining authorization or pre-authorization from the client's insurance company. This step ensures that the necessary coverage is in place for the services we provide.

Intake Process

Clients complete the necessary intake forms, which provide important information about the client's background, medical history, and goals.

Initial Observation and Interview

Our Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) conducts an initial observation session directly with the client to assess their behaviors and skills. Simultaneously, the BCBA also conducts an initial interview with the parents or caregivers to gather valuable insights and information about the client.

Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)

Based on the observation and interview findings, as well as the questionnaire filled out by the client/caregiver, our BCBA conducts a comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessment. This assessment helps identify the underlying causes and functions of the client's behaviors and skill levels, providing crucial insights for developing an effective therapy plan.

Initiation of 1:1 Therapy

After completing the FBA and receiving authorization from insurance, we begin the direct 1:1 therapy sessions and parent training. The 1:1 sessions involve the Registered Behavior Analysis Interventionist (RBAI) working directly with the client to implement the tailored therapy plan designed and supervised by the BCBA. The therapy focuses on addressing the specific goals and targets identified during the assessment process, ensuring a customized approach to maximize your child's progress and success.

Personalized Development Plan

Assessment results will be documented in a report and thoroughly analyzed to develop a personalized plan tailored to the client's specific needs and goals.

Tracking Progress

Regular assessment and reassessment of the client's progress will be conducted to ensure accurate tracking of their development.

Fading ABA Services

As your child progresses and gains new skills, the frequency of ABA services will gradually decrease. This fading process is a result of your active support and participation in your child's development. As your child becomes more independent and proficient in their abilities, the need for frequent sessions will diminish.

Discharge and Transition Plan

When the target behaviors and instructional goals have been consistently met for six consecutive months, behavior analysis services will end. Support will be gradually reduced based on specific sub-criteria, with the fading procedure subject to change if maladaptive behaviors increase or new ones emerge. If skill acquisition rates decline for four consecutive weeks, additional hours of support will be provided until the skills are regained.

By following these steps, we ensure a thorough and personalized approach to therapy, starting with a comprehensive understanding of the client's needs and goals and progressing toward effective and targeted interventions.

Parent Training

Active involvement of parents and caregivers in ABA plays a vital role in the success of treatment. At Burton Behavioral Interventions Corp, we emphasize the importance of parent training, enabling parents to acquire a deeper understanding of their child's autism diagnosis, behavior management techniques, and effective methods for teaching new skills.

Our consultations are designed to monitor progress, address sudden changes in behavior, navigate significant transitions, determine the current level of service needed, and identify any potential barriers to treatment.

Parents provide valuable insights on their child's response to new strategies in different environments. We prioritize family-focused programming, considering the entire family's needs in your child's intervention program. We engage families in decision-making, provide regular feedback through progress reports and team meetings, and offer ongoing support to navigate changes in family dynamics and your child's life.

Therefore, we require a minimum of 1 hour of parent training per month to achieve high-quality therapeutic outcomes. Your participation in these meetings is crucial for success.

Telehealth

Burton Behavioral Interventions Corp provides remote services through our platform to support children in developing essential skills for thriving. However, it's important to note that telehealth coverage may vary among insurance providers, so it is crucial to ensure your eligibility beforehand. Moreover, the number of sessions may also be limited and predetermined by your insurance plan.

During these remote sessions, our dedicated Registered Behavior Analysis Interventionist (RBAI) conducts direct one-on-one therapy with the client via video calls on a regular basis. Additionally, a highly qualified Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) delivers supervision and parent training to ensure comprehensive support and guidance throughout the process.

Community Outings

Individuals on the autism spectrum and their parents often experience anxiety and frustration when it comes to community outings. However, these outings present valuable opportunities for individuals with autism to develop socialization skills, physical awareness, and real-world capabilities. At Burton Behavioral Interventions Corp, we understand the importance of community outings in facilitating growth and learning.

That's why we offer community outings that are designed to be enjoyable, interactive, and safe. These outings provide a chance for both clients and their families to explore an exciting world while discovering new avenues for learning. We strive to create a supportive environment where our clients can thrive and embrace new experiences.

Collaborations

The benefits of collaboration among ABA therapists, teachers, and healthcare providers should not be overlooked. At Burton Behavioral Interventions Corp, our team of dedicated Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) actively collaborates with the client's speech therapists, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the client's overall success.

Through the collaborative process, we prioritize discussions on goals, progress, and other crucial details pertaining to the client's path to success during consultations. By having a cohesive team of committed professionals working together, we establish a solid foundation for effective programming and maximize the client's potential.
